NEWS FROM BARCELONA "Hi Amistar. Finaly we made the recoring I told you
when I rote you asking for the guitar. The new CD "Shine"
will be out next week and Im really happy with it. Last week
I met Bob Brozman and we made a gig together. For me it was
very important because I admire his tecnique but I got
surprised when
he said the same about me". CHINO from Spain plays the

AMISTAR HAS MOVED Dear Amistar friend, partners and fans. I would like to
inform you that we moved our company to the new bigger house and better bigger
spaces. Since September 1st we stay at the new address.
STOLEN INSTRUMENT ALERT
Just letting you guys know that I got the stolen Amistar
Tricone back 2 weks ago and have been using it to finish up
my new CD that will be out Oct. 20th. I used it on 4 cuts
and I will send them to you when I get the CD mastered and
finished. I am very glad to have her back and will be using
her first thing in the morning on Mason Douglas’ CD for
Rural Rhythm Records. I hope all is well over there.

THE MIROV PRISONERS christen with non-alcohol strawberry – champagne. On
the 26th of May 2009, the blues duo Beňa & Ptaszek came back
to the prison to christen their new album: Beňa & Ptaszek v
kriminále. Those behind the iron bars became the
christening-fathers of this album with the prison band: Work
Therapy. "Have you got a knife" joked the Amistar player
Lubos Bena
when he couldn't open the champagne at the hardened prison
of Mirov during the christening of their new album.
"Inside this album are all of your authentic voices,
applause and atmosphere" Lubos Bena , told to the convicted
murderers.

AMISTAR AT THE PRISON In the autumn of 2008, an
Amistar player Lubos Bena from Slovakia and his Czech
accomplice Matej Ptaszek found themseles behind the bars of Mírov. However, they did not start their prison term here.
They came to play the Mississippi River blues. The concert
was recorded by Studio Indies to preserve the authentic
atmosphere of the performance, which you can become a part
of while listening to this cd "Bena & Ptaszek at the
prison".

Czech Republic have re-started the radtion of building
resonator instruments in the style of the U.S. Dopyera
Brothers, also of Czech heritage, who established National
Guitars and Dobro Guitars in the U.S. in the 1920s and 30s.

Mann's Japan tour went successfuly. or this tour, Woody
ture with his good friend Tokio Uchida who is a
Japanese well-known accoustic blues fingerpicking guitarist.
And as a special guest, another Japanese excellent guitarist

RETRO BLUES
This band creates spontaneous atmosphere on the stage and
for the audience as well. Two bluesmen from the Czech
Republic. Petr "Dzetro" Ritzka plays resophoni guitar and
he sings in native language (which is Czech) and writes
Czech lyrics to the blues traditionals. Nowadays is second
member harp player and resophonic guitar player Lubos Khyr.
His own songs are mostly folk based, but ground is the
blues.
